Dr. Alan W. Reichow, Professor Emeritus at Pacific University, is a pioneering figure in sports vision and performance. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1981 and co-founded the university's Sports Vision Program, the longest-standing of its kind globally. With a Master’s in Education, Dr. Reichow—alongside his wife, Debra Reichow, MAE—has long been dedicated to empowering youth both academically and athletically.
Dr. Reichow has served as a consultant to numerous collegiate, professional, and Olympic sports programs. From 1994 to 2012, he was Nike Inc.’s Global Research Director for Vision Sciences, where he applied advanced vision science to product innovation and performance enhancement. In collaboration with Paragon Vision Sciences, he co-developed the SportSight Contact Lens, later branded as Nike MaxSight.
Recognizing a market need, he co-founded Performance Vision Technologies, Inc. and led the development of ALTIUS®, the first single-use performance-tinted soft contact lens. He is listed as an inventor on multiple pending patents for ALTIUS®, solidifying his legacy in vision science innovation.
Dr. Karl Citek is a Professor at Pacific University College of Optometry and an expert in ophthalmic and physiological optics. He holds OD and PhD degrees from SUNY College of Optometry and serves in multiple leadership roles with ANSI and ISO standard-setting committees.
Dr. Citek has co-invented over two dozen U.S. and international patents with Dr. Reichow. Their collaboration on performance-tinted eyewear laid the foundation for ALTIUS®, a project 26 years in the making.
Fernando Bolio is a proven leader in the eye care industry, bringing a potent blend of commercial strategy, international operations, and market development expertise. With over seven years in the contact lens industry, he holds an MBA from the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena in Spain and a degree from UNAM, Mexico’s leading national university.
He began his career at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where he developed a strong foundation in branding and consumer engagement. He then joined Paragon Vision Sciences and later CooperVision, rising to Latin American Marketing Director. In this role, he led regulatory, manufacturing, and marketing initiatives that expanded the adoption of orthokeratology lenses and enhanced production capabilities in Mexico and Brazil.
As Chief Operating Officer at Performance Vision Technologies, Inc., Fernando oversees the commercialization of ALTIUS®, the first single-use performance-tinted contact lens. He focuses on scaling operations and fostering strategic partnerships aligned with the company’s commitment to independent eye care practices. His global perspective and data-informed leadership play a key role in advancing the brand’s position in performance vision.
With over a decade in the eye care industry, Snow Shen specializes in regulatory operations and customer experience. She has played a pivotal role in medical device registration in China and supported Asia Pacific distribution for specialty contact lenses.
Currently, Snow collaborates with the marketing and operations teams to support ALTIUS® expansion in the Australian market. She also bridges internal and distributor communications, leveraging her bilingual fluency to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Rachel Ayars brings over 17 years of optical industry experience spanning clinical care, retail, and professional education. Initially a licensed optician, she rose through management and sales roles before joining Performance Vision Technologies in 2023. Promoted to Director of Professional Affairs in 2024, she assumed Sales leadership in 2025.
Rachel has implemented ALTIUS® provider engagement infrastructure, including CRM workflow, sales SOPs, and the ALTIUS® Advantage program. She ensures all clinical and educational materials align with FDA-cleared claims and published research. Her leadership bridges scientific validation and commercial success.
Jenna Lopez is an accomplished sales professional with over 15 years of experience across major U.S. companies. She holds a degree in Mass Communications from Towson University.
